I bought a light kit for rear lights. The problem I am having is finding a hole to run wires through from my switch back to the relay under the truck. I need to run two 16 gage wires out of the driver compartment and I see no holes anywhere. Everything along the firewall is sealed up tighter than a ticks ass. Anything I can do short of drilling a hole? It would be great to tie it in somehow with the cargo lamp button but that is sealed up in the dash.

Thanks
Jim

MUSTFISH:
yuo can do what HOOT said OR just make a small hole in an existing grommet(carefully) and run your wires through right next to the factory wires.

P/S- leave them tics ALONE!!! :D

There is also a large grommet under the carpet below the driver's feet that the transmission control cable feeds through. I noticed it when installing my by-pass filter. Maybe you could snake a wire through this grommet next to the cable ... similar to what RATDOC suggested (??).

Mustfish,

The grommet under the carpet drivers side floor is the way to go. I ran my wires for the 42gal fuel tank guage and the wire and tubing for my rear airbags through it. Used some silicone to seal it all up (just to be safe) be sure your wires face the rear to avoid water feeding up the wires from the front.

Good luck,
Bob

Another way to feed wire through the firewall is to drill a hole (1/4 inch?) in a safe but accessable location. Then fish 4 or five extra different colored wires through at the same time. They don't have to be more than a foot or so long. You never know what you will need down the road. Radio Shack and others sell grommets and shrink tubing to prevent chafing wires and to make a tight fit. I would also use silicone to seal both sides of the hole around the grommet.
