hello all,
I have the original GM-1 turbo on my 93TD. I think the turbo seals are tired as its pushing some oil past the turbo-intake hose and also dripping oil off the exterior of the compressor housing. I have seen new take-off turbos on Ebay and I am wondering if I can use the late-model (GM-8 I think?) with my Heath Turbomaster mechanical boost controller? If my controller won't work is there another one available? I have heard that updating the turbo from a GM1 to higher isn't worth it but since mine appears to be in need of seals anyway.... Why not? Thanks, RT

I have a working GM-4 (1994) with a Heath Turbo Master already installed boxed up and ready for shipment. (Another DP'er bought it, but cancelled after he decided to trade his truck on a new (gasp) PowerStroke.)

$50 and shipping and its yours.

Mark,

I am interested in the turbo master if RT just wants the turbo. I think the turbomaster from a GM1 turbo will work on a GM4. Its the 96+ trucks (GM5+) turbos that use the later model turbo master.

I don't want to take the turbo away from RT if he wants it, but if not, I am interested. Thanks!

John

RT,

thanks for the consideration on the turbomaster, I'll be interested in your old one or Marks turbo master. I am puting a 6.5 turbo on a 6.2 and need a boost controller for a GM4 turbo. I'll email you so you can contact me when you find out what works! thanks!
