Bottom door trim shredding on 2005

anyone having a problem with the edge of the bottom of the inside door coming off in smallpieces? A friend said it is the clips for my shoe laces of my work boots grabbing the edge and shredding the edge evertime I get in the truck. This didn't happen with my 2001 duramx but that was a base model. My 20005 has a fancier door finish. Any ideas on how to fix it besides getting new shoes? I can superglue the pieces back up but that only works until I hit it again with m shoe.
Also everytime I get in the I have to roll down the window to get the door to close all the way.I have 6,000 miles on the truck, I thought this problem with disappear wth time.

Had the same thing happen on my 02'. I bought some of that clear sticky film that you would put over number plates and decals on atv and motorcycle and trimed it to fit. it is noticable and doesn't look the best but it does save your door panel.
