I'm considering a Billet Grill and was wondering if anybody has one installed on their truck.
All picture links would be appreciated.
Thanks, Scott

29MDLA and dmatt ,

Did your Stull installation require cutting the
plastic grill. I believe there are some
billet grill applications which attach in front
of the plastic and require NO cutting

Would appreciate your comments.

Thanks

I went to the Stull website and read:

Modification Required. Requires Cutting Out Plastic Factory Grille Center

So...... next question, does anyone have information/pictures about a billet grill that
does not require cutting??

thanks

*Last week I saw a truck with the grill cut out,
but the owner really did a hack job with sawing
out the plastic :(

dmatt: Nice set up. Was there cutting and or welding required to mount the shock hoops? Thanks

Yes I had to cut out the egg crate part. Then sanded and painted it and the cross bar. Not hard but took time to smooth/fill for painting. I did not like the large chrome cross bar.

TaaXXXX, Nice looking grill. Do you have any room behind the jump seat for the amp? Just curious, as I have a CC and do not know. There is a pic of my amp and sub behind the rear passenger seat, if ya' care to see. Click on the link in the sig line.

LA DMAX: Both the shock hoops and lower control
arms are bolt-on with no cutting or welding. CST
designs, manufactures and installs their own equipment.

dmatt: Thanks, I looked them up on the net last night. Looks like they do good work and have some reputable owners. They are about 70 miles from my house. Did they do the install as well.

LA DMAX: CST did the entire install including
their lift with a one-piece sub frame. In my
humble opinion they are one of the best. You owe
it to yourself and your truck to at least check
them out. If you want, I can introduce you to
their manager before you go over.

dmatt: Sounds good, I guess they are friends of yours? I'd be interested to see what their set up looks like and compare it to RCD and Fabtech. I've seen that it is always better to wait a few years after a new model truck comes out to see the refinements in the aftermarket world. Here's my email jturina@earthlink.net. BTW how much $ was the lift? Thanks

NutNbutGMC,
Whoa!! CC's have some serious room behind the jump seat. I have about 2.5-3.0" inches when the seat is down, but when you lift the seat up, that space reduces to about an 1" :( I have to make a custom box to recess the amp on top of the box (enough so the seat can come down). BTW, Very nice truck and home smile.gif

Let's stay focused.......

We are on billet grilles.

I raise the question again. Is there any aftermarket
company who makes bolt on billet grilles without requiring
cutting?

Thanks

Nomad, Carriage Works makes a bolt-on unit. I'll be getting one this spring, but I don't see the grille listed on their website... I know they have one...

I want a billet grille, but I don't want it to be permanent... I want to be able to remove it during the winter, so it doesn't rot out under the cold front with our wonderful Minnesota road salt...

Alright guys, this is the one I have been looking at for a couple of weeks. Supposed to fit directly over with no modifications. I emailed a guy who bought one to see if he installed yet and he replied that he hasn't received it yet. I will try him again to see how install went. I will keep you posted. I thank those who did post the pictures of their trucks. The one in this picture is pewter I wanted to see what it might look like on a Forest Green Truck. Here's the link.

J&J Stainless makes a grille that you don't have to cut the stock one out. They are at http://www.j-jent.com/

You can take it on or off as needed. I have some installed photos you can check out at the yahoo photo site below.

Hi Paul,

Is is aluminum or stainless. Hope you get back
to us with the manufacturer

Thanks

I just received the Carriage Works aluminum polished
billet grille.

They can be bolted on the existing grille, however
the aluminum cross pieces are VERY easily
bent and deformed. If these were stainless,
it would much better.

I'm sending these back!

I looked at the J&J Stainless.... but they have
stainless steel tubes and it looks too "chunky"
for the grille openings. They are at
http://www.j-jent.com

So now I'm still looking for a bolt on grille with
the billet look, constucted with stainless steel.

Any sources??

I like the J&J myself, has held up well and looks great!
