Hi all,

Ouch! I just found an ugly dent on my drivers
door.....where the side molding SHOULD be :(

At the Rendezvous, one of the 3500's had
used the side moldings from a 2002 GMC
Sierra Denali P/U. This molding set included
a piece that fits on the quarter panel in
front of the wheel opening. The regular
GMC chrome molding for this piece is 17.3"
and the Denali part is less than 16" which
fits the dually rear fender.

My recollection is that these side
moldings were dark....almost a graphite color.
Can the Denali moldings be purchased in chrome
vs the graphite color. Also, does any one have
the part numbers for the Denali side moldings?

Any other side molding suggestions for the Dually?

56Nomad,
If you want you can check out www.sportwing.com.
I'm pretty sure they have a good assortment of after-market moldings.

CanadaKev,

Thanks. I did some checking in the Mitchell
Manuel and find that the Denali side moldings
all have to be painted before they are applied.
So no chrome available.

Interesting that Denali Sierra P/U only comes in
three colors.

I think I'll go to your plan B smile.gif

56nomad,

If you wait untill the 2003 trucks come out, you should be able to buy the Denali style side mouldings in chrome if you like. In 2003 the 4 wheel steer option will be available in more truck lines, so the Denali won't be the only choice.

Mowser,

I decided to go with after market for now. We have
a mobile molding/striper fella who visits all the
dealers and body shops in our area. I picked
one of his samples and he will order it and
install it for me. It is mostly chrome with black
edges.....

I'll post pictures when it is finished.

Hi all,

Got the aftermarket moldings put on this morning. They look
great and definately will protect the door panels.

Here are the pictures......

Hi 56. Side moldings look great. Who made them? About how much do they cost? Do you know where they can be ordered? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Road Kill,

I had the local installer come to my house
to put them on. Just over $175, but after seeing
him do it....... I could have done it. It comes
on a roll. He lays out a straight line on the
side of truck using masking tape. Then he intalls
the flexible side molding which has adhesive on
the back.

Here is one site which has the moldings with the
prices.
