EGTs When are they really serious?

Thanks to NADMICO, my Bank guages are installed. The EGT that I'm seeing is scary. There must be something to 'Ignorance is bliss -' The EGT can climb rapidly even when unladened. Climbing a grade at fwywy speeds can quickly approach 1000

Sounds normal to me. I can easily see 1000 degrees on hard acceleration, such as up an entrance ramp. Even with nothing in the box or on the hitch. It seems to climb pretty quickly up to 1000, but takes a bit more effort (big load, big hill, and heavy foot) to go from there up to 1250. Of course, I've never had much over 9,000 lbs. on the hitch.

BTW: My probe is in the rear portion of the right side exaust manifold. (The hoot position) ;)
