I am wanting pics of 285/75's on a 2500HD. I am wanting pics with factory rims and with 16x8 rims. I am trying to show my wife the difference.

Check my signature...

The wheels are Centerline Rattler 16x8's with 4 5/8" backspacing. Tires are 285/75-16 BFG AT's.

The current album only has the 16 X 8 centerlines. I'll update it to include the before pics. I wanted to keep the PYO's on the truck, but the tires are too wide for the 6.5" wheels. Not a problem if you never tow or haul heavy loads.

I updated the album to include the before and after pic's. Cheers

What offset are you running on your tires. They look perfect at that straight on angle. I don't want the front tires to stick out past the factory flares

Cheers

According to the M/T website, Im running a 4 9/16" offset. The wheels are rated at 3300lbs.

The bad news is M/T is discontinuing that particular part number and combining that offset with others to produce a more generic wheel.

You might want to give them a call and see what they have available. The reason I went with M/T is the cost and the look.

Hay DmaxMaverick,
Your truck look's great. I just today had Centerline rims and 285-75-16 BFG's M/T installed. I love it. I had My T-bars cranked 4 turns and it was 16" from the top edge of the rim to the bottom edge of the black plastic fender. After I got My truck back it was 16 1/2". How much did you have to crank your bars to fit I think I might wand it back where it was. Our trucks look like they have a lift on them with out all the probmems.

Thanks Bill

Cool. Which Centerlines did you go with?

I turned my bars up 4 turns. I leveled my truck with my 5'er hooked up. It has a slight rake empty. Unless your rear end is sagging, there should be no reason to change it back. If you are getting tire rub, you should be able to remedy that. Lowering the bars will only make it worse.

The '01 and up 2500 HD's and 3500's have a 2" body lift to accomodate the Allison tranny.

Well over the weekend I did lower the front 2 turns and got no rubbing at all. I do like the tuuck better with aa little rake. Not sure what the rims are called I think polaris they have round holes in them. I was told that they only came with a 4 1/2" back space, I think they stick out more then stock but look real good. The right side wheeles seem to stick out just a little more then the driver side about 1/4" I think.

Do you have a body lift on your truck.

Later this week I will try to post some photos of the truck if I can make My computer work.

Hi CHevyGert:

I have 285's mounted on 16X8 AR Atlas wheels (you can see them on my picpage). I originally had the tires mounted on the stock rims, but didn't like the "washy" steering feel from sidewall flex during cornering. While I really like the look of the aftermarket wheels, the tires "lost" an inch or so of height (by virtue of an extra 1.5inch wheel width), which I really do miss. The 285's on the stock rims really filled up the wheel wells and looked great on the truck, but I was always a bit concerned about running that size on such a narrow rim over the long haul. I do know that several TDP members currently run 285's on stock rims w/no complaints...guess it's just a matter of personal preference.

By the way, great color choice on your truck! ;)

How mcch of a problem did you have with tire rub on the 285x75's with the 16x8 wheels? my driver's side front rubs with the 16x8 weld wheels with 4 5/8 backspacing.

Little Wiley,

Man your truck looks great. It's the look I want to get. I put the same tires with Centerline 16x8" Polaris rims. When I asked the shop that sold Me the tires and rims about a Rancho 4" lift. I was tole that 285-75-16 bfg MT were to small and would not look good with a lift. I am going to print a photo of your truck to gim he.

He wanted to sell Me 35x12 or 33x12 tires when I asked him why he told Me that they where wider and would look better.
Have you had any problems with the lift. smile.gif

Little_Wiley,

Nice looking truck.
How hard installing that lift?

Like your other ride too, welcome home!
