Does anyone with the new extendable mirrors pull a 102" wide trailer? If everything goes to plan I'll be ordering an '03 next week. I'm still a little torn between factory mirrors and Lucerix. I pull a 17' enclosed sled trailer so it's not that long. If neither has an advantage on 102 wide trailers I'm leaning towards the factory ones.

I have them but don't trailer yet. If you don't get an answer to your question by the weekend, I could probably rig up a good test and tell you what I see, or not...

Thanx, but too late. The truck's on order with camper mirrors. From other recent posts no-one makes mirrors that really do the job.

Here's another consideration:

Since the "camper" mirror is fairly rectangular, are you able to have in sight the vehicle you are backing up to hitch to? The "standard" mirrors have the inside bottom corner cut out, making backing up while seeing what you are trying to hitch up to a pain!

I sight through the rear window to spot my trailer. I gauge off the bolts in the tailgate how centered I am. I'll know pretty soon. The dealer says I should have the truck early Nov. Just in time for sledding season!!!

This is the best solution I've found for hitching up the trailer:

Absolutely painless.

I just saw my first 2003 Chevy 3/4 ton
with the factory accordian towing mirrors.
They are much smaller than the Lucerix.

I don't think they have a "break away"
position, so if you bump something, I
think they are gonners.

The Lucerix mirrors are still tops in my
opinion.

I actually have one of those Mirrors, Cipa makes it. I use it almost everyday. For anyone who wants one I would definately suggest it. I think I paid like 25 at a local speed shop. Works great.

Does the Cipa or Lucerix passenger side mirror have convex glass? Anyone? If someone would convert the Ford towing mirrors that would be most excellent. :D

Lucerix has flat glass on both mirrors. Add a 3" or 4" round stick on spot at the outside lower corner and all is good. I love my Lucerix.
