Has anyone had any experience with the new Bose radios in the 03's? I was looking on the web today and saw the want 800 bucks for the one with the 6 disc changer. Is it really worth it? I have a hard time taking a new truck to some kids at the audio shop to hack on a radio. I would be even more upset to pay to remove an optional radio for subpar performance.

I love mine, but if you were looking at the LT its standard.
If nothing else, it will get the attention of the rice burner next to you with his $5000 stereo

^..... Take into consideration the specs that the Bose has to offer, including the speakers, accessory add-on capability, remote control, power output, etc... If this meets your needs, go for it. I suggest this, relative to this point; If you are not satisfied with the Bose (compared to an aftermarket upgrade), don't waste the money if you plan on upgrading above and beyond the Bose performance. My preference was to upgrade my entire system, so I went with aftermarket head (XM ready), speakers, tweeters, amplifier and subwoofer. I have the best sounding stereo in town. ;)
Bottom line??? Now that I have spouted off too much, like pullinpower said, buy the Bose.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know where I can find the specs for the Bose system in the new trucks?
I don't know if you've checked but this is from the Bose website faq:

I fly a lot and those noise canceling headphones are worth EVERY cent for that. My wife whined when I got them but now she travels more than me and she always takes them. And when we fly together, guess who gets the short end of the stick...
For kids in the back though, nah. $300 is too steep for that! smile.gif

Get the Bose, if for nothing but the 6 disk. I put one in right after I got my 02 and it cost me 2 days + of searching and a month of begging the wife, $400 buck and 20 minutes to install it. It is a USA and works the the factory head unit. Plugs into the cassette harness. I put it in the consol, but would rather have the 03 system in a heartbeat. (No pun intended :D )

I'd recommend the Bose, I was nervous enough just letting someone I didn't know install the Rhino liner in my truck, I wasn't about to let some trainee wreck my truck installing an aftermarket system. I really like it, however, when I ordered my 2003 the 6 disk was not standard in the GMC SLT, it cost approx $680 but the features and sound are excellent, the rear seat audio allows the passengers to control any component not being listened to by the driver, havent' tested it yet but thats what the manual says. The DVD is great too!
