i have a 97 chevy 1500 silverado 6.5L TD. except for a 3" exhaust taking out the catalytic converter, it is bone stock. i want to throw some gauges on it before i really get into putting performance mods on it. i want to get a 3 gauge pod comin down the pillar, but i dont know what would be the best gauges to put in it. i'm thinkin bout a egt, boost, and i dont know about the last. i plan on eventually turnin up the boost, puttin 18.1:1 pistons, and several other mods on it if that makes any difference of which gauge to get. any suggestions would help

p.s. i also want to get a super chips computer programmer, but i havent been able to find one for my truck. any hints on where to find one would be helpful

Have a look HERE (http://www.thedieselpage.com/reviews/gauges2005.htm) .

Excellent write-up and product reviews.

Can't help you with the Superchips question. I don't think they released one for the '97, though. Browse through TDP Advertisers (http://www.thedieselpage.com/vendors/main.htm) for your options there.

Super Chips doesn't support the 6.5 Diesel. Contact John Kennedy for your electronic performance needs. I use four gages: boost, egt, engine oil temp and trans oil temp. The engine oil temp was very telling...

Be sure to read my articles in the members area: Part I (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/schoolcraft.htm) and Part II (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/schoolcraft2.htm).
