Have had nothing but problems keeping my vinyl bed rail covers from coming loose. Spent buckets of dollars and much time putting on new double sided tape. I am guessing that a white truck and black covers and hundred degree days dont set well with keeping them on.
Got fed up and pop rivited the front and back inside rails by the stake pockets. I am pleased to report the darn covers are staying in place and are looking good!

Hmmm, are they the GM bedrail covers? This is my 2nd truck with the GM bedrail covers and I haven't had any problems with them coming "unstuck". I'd be lucky if I could pry them off. Pop rivets should work.

After market. Tried the best tape 3m makes and cleaned the covers and bed with alcohol and various other chemicals. A truck came up to or shop the other day with factory covers. Thought I would look to see how they hold on. Darn things were loose! Anyway am pleased with the pop rivets as it looks more professional than screws would.

3M VHB is, I believe, what everything on our trucks is stuck on with. I know that's what's on the flares, and that stuff holds like crazy. Regardless, the pop rivets should work.

If they come off now, we'll have to start suspecting your driving habits. ;)

I had the OEM ones on my '02 and just put them on my '03, they stuck like glue. ;) Seriously though, never had a problem with them.

Another option exists if you have a tonneau cover.

I have a phobia about using adhesive or drilling into my truck, but I wanted to install the bed rail covers from GM. I also have a tonneau cover that uses "C" clamps to hold the tonneau cover "snap rails" down.

In the end, I just clamp the rail covers down under the snap rails. I kept the adhesive cover on the rail covers on to act as a cushion.

All of this allows me remove everything for washing and especially drying. I am afraid that if moisture gets trapped under the rail covers, corrosion will start.

I think this would also work if you installed a shell or slide in camper.

I had the same issues with the plastic ones. I tried everything. Once they start to come up it looks very cheap. I went a did the Line X bedliner with over the rails instead. Its looks awesome and its indestructable. I constantly get compliments on it. You can also have them spray it over the rails as little or as much as you want which is also very nice!

I've had the plastic bed rail covers since my truck was nearly new. I never noticed a problem, but I also installed stake-pocket tie downs at the same time. The tie downs do snug the cover to the rails. I pulled one off and sure enough, no sticky. If I didn't have the tie downs, I'm sure the covers would have blown off eons ago.

The tie downs look OEM and are the pull-up type. They are flush when pushed down and have a bezel on them the same color/texture as the covers. I don't recall the brand, but could pull one and look for a name or part # if someone needs it.
