Transfer Case

On Sunday Morning i was on Rt 78 pulling a hill with a 3000lbs trailer and the truck made a pop sound and lost momentum. Track goes into park but truck still rolled but after playing with it it held then not. Im think it is in the transfer case sinse i can move the truck and it is in low range put only in low range.

Now to my question
what transfer case is in the truck
95 ,6.5, K2500, with 286,000 miles

any help would be great
also where to get parts.

Not that this helps much but my 97 Helm service manual said I had 2 options for the mechanical shifted transfer case. I think a Borg Warner or New Process. I have the New Process. Not sure the number though. And I don't remember any codes VIN or RPO codes that specify which one it is. You have to look at the ID tag on the back of it.

Quad4x4.com (they have parts for older models and may point you in the right direction) and Standardtransmission.com are (2) internet leads for you. I would also check local junk yards and the ad section in the back of a couple of 4x4 mags.
