GM Factory Running Boards Available

While trying to decide on running boards for my new 03 I have discovered that GM does indeed make the black (suburban type)running boards for the silverado along with short box extensions although they are not available for the crew cab.

I have seen several posts asking about this type of board, I even purchased a set of Suburban board last winter to experiment with.

Here are the part numbers....

Molded Running Boards
Cab section, reg. cab - 12497517
Cab section, Ext. cab - 12497518
Bed Board, short box - 12370487

Unless I find something I like better I'm planning on going with the J&J Millennium Boards for my 03.

Before you buy J&J boards, consider that they are not very wide and mount really far under the rocker panel leaving very little to actually step on. I found them to be very pretty but not at all practicle. Depends what you're looking for. Mine are on their way back to J&J.
