What experience do you have with a cover for an 8ft bed? A full cap, same height as cab, same matching factory paint?
A retractable, or sliding cover same height as bed rails?
Will need something to secure items out of easy reach, ie; lawn chairs, possibly a generator, possibly bikes etc.
Need something with a lock to keep honest people honest. Will not be using a 5th wheel.
Just doin my homework in advance.
Thanks for your replies. smile.gif

Tom,
I have a RETRAX (http://www.rolltopcover.com) roll top cover that works really well. I like it because it gives full access to the bed when needed. It also keeps the bed dry and secure when closed. Bought mine from JK...

I put a Pace Edwards roll-top on the CC, but bought a flush-mount fiberglass tonneau from Checker Pro (http://www.checkerpro.com) for the red truck.

Checker's cover is a nice unit, and is half the cost and half the weight of a Pace Edwards. Plus it can be removed in a few minutes without tools. They come in black or white, but can be painted to match. Several optional accessories are available, but they come with gas lift struts standard.

Looking at a "Leer"100XQ cap for the 05 8 ft. bed this weekend. Anyone use one of these? Pros + Cons? Looks like a nice unit on their website. Sliding window in back of the crew cab, and slidding cap window? Good or bad?
Seems we will need more room than just a cover from rail to rail. Thanks again for your help. ;)
