The other day I saw an '03 truck with what looked like factory trailer tow mirrors like the ones on my '01. But, the passenger side mirror had the same glass style as the driver's side, i.e. it had a convex blind spot miror in the corner. It was the same shape and basically looked exactly like the driver's side. Are these mirrors optional on the '03 trucks or are the aftermarket? Are the powered or manual? How much do they cost? Retrofit?

I ordered the factory tow mirrors from GM Parts Direct last summer and they came like this. Apparently this was a running change after the 2001 model year.

I have an early 2002 and it doesn't have the convex on the pass side but later 2002's do have the pass side convex. Wish mine had it and wish the GM mirrors were more like F%#d's. Infact that is the only thing that I miss about the F%#d I had.

well I'm looking at putting on some of the factory mirrors, for those of you that have them what do you tow? How wide is it and have you found and blind spots? I have a enclosed trailer that is 92" wide(tires stick out 5" on each side). The other problem is when taking off the power mirrors does it give you any fault codes.

Buelldude,

Have the 03' power towing mirrors and tow 102" wide trailer that is 32'long. Can see all the way down passenger side w/ slight movement of truck to the right. I like them a lot, but not sure if this helps you answer your question? Their are a couple of blide spots and plan to add two spot mirrors to take care of this.

I tow a 22' enclosed trailer with a 5.5' tongue. It's 102" wide and I cannot see down the curb side with the factory towing mirrors.

It's kind of a bummer. The Schefenacker mirrors look slick.

I like my factory tow mirrors but they do leave a bit to be desired. I have a 20' Featherlite gooseneck stock trailer and I can see anywhere down the side of it. It's 6' or 7' wide (I think it's 7'). Anyway, the only beef I have (no pun intended) is there's no blind spot mirror on the passenger side. If I can find where to get one of the new style pass. side mirrors with the convex mirror in it I'd definately do a swap. Of course, I'd LOVE to retrofit a set of Ford power tow mirrors to my truck (that's a hint to all you aftermarket guys and folks that like to tinker ;) ).
