I'm wanting to get a tuner for my rig and I'm thinking the Quad 135 Performance may be the way to go. That is unless I can be swayed some by others input. The Allison is still stock and will be that way until the summer '04 at least, all I really want for the moment is to be able to recalibrate the speedo/odo for a larger tire and lay a little extra power to the road to beat some local hot heads. Come march or april I'll be putting on 285 bfg at's and right now it seems that the quad will be fine, since it has that option. I know there are many out there and that some of you are running the quad and/or others. For an 'entry' level tuner would this be the right choice for my 'needs.'

JK is offering it for a fairly decent price. But if you would have any other suggestions for me or could tell me how you like what you have I would greatly appreciate your input thanks in advance.

Jon, I can't comment on the quad, but I have been running the Predator for quite some time, and am very happy with it. It's not a 135 like the Quad, it is a 120, but it sure does run good :D I have 315/75/16 BFG KO's, and I can roast 'em at will  I have never had a problem (28K miles), never set any codes, just plenty of power. I too originally bought it for the speedo/odo calibration, but I got over that quick ;)
These programmers are addictive tongue.gif The scan tool feature is also nice. You can monitor engine data, clear DTC's, etc. The Pred. & Quad are both easy to return to stock settings, just in case you have to make a trip to the dealer for warranty work. Remember though, with ANY programmer, you need to add gauges (boost/EGT), and bigger exhaust also helps. A lot of guys like the Juice w/ Attitude controller. They have a great rep. and it has built in gauges, which justifies the extra cost. It will not, however, adjust you speedo/odo. You can display your correct speed on the Attitude readout, but it will not re-calibrate the factory speedo/odo. It also will not read/clear DTC's or monitor engine data. Decisions, decisions tongue.gif Hey, they are all pretty good, it just depends on what features you want the most. Decide what your main goal is, and buy the one that best suits your needs. You won't go wrong w/ any of the above, except for the fact that when you see what a difference they make, it'll just cost you more You can't escape it, and you'll never go back to stock ;) Good Luck, DinoMax :D :D

I run the 135 and it hauls. Kennedy, Minn-Kota, SoMnDmax, Grant and I dynoed in Ramsey MN. Quad alone was good for 405 rwhp and 74X torque. My tranny is all stock. The tranny will not hold the 4-5 shift though. I will upgrade this spring also. I run 285's too.

Check this out. http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=007020

ok here is a goofy question.
If I was to get a Quad 110 right now could that be upgraded to a 135 after the tranny upgrades are done?
Might just stack then but just wondering..

Lonewolf867(Mike),

I dunno, ask Kennedy. If anyone would know he would, :D Here's a silly question, if you are going to be upgrading your tranny and then add the 135, why not go 215 (feel the POWER) haha!!! :D :D :D :D (j/k)

What is the Quad135 Performance and how much is it. Is this the box you plug into the truck to up your performance and read adjust your tire size when upgrading tires?????

HEY PILOT!!
The Quad box is a tuner that reprograms the ECM. So are the Predator and Hypertech. The juice box is a component the plugs inline to the ecm and intercepts the codes from the motor and sends its own signals.
All are good for gaining power. It all depends on your prefferences for features that will sway which one is better than the other.

Jon,
215 is a definate possibility!

Mike,

Yea I've been debating whether or not to go with the 135 or the 215... I won't be ungrading the tranny until next summer though. If I got the 215 I'd just have to run it at that @ least once.(a day)..haha

Jon

Atvpilot,

It's ~$525 at Kennedy's site, I think...

I know what you mean about having to run at least once...That is why I am going to get either the 135 performance or 110 towing. I want to save my tranny as much as possible. I figure once I get the tranny upgrade then it will be time for the juice. :D

Yea...I've been pretty good. I have kept myself from buying it until the spring when I put the bigger ATKOs on. urgh, it won't come quick enough!!! Bring on the quad!
