I'm going to buy a bed box for my 2500HD - the type across the front of the bed and even with the top of the rails (so my 5th wheel will clear). Has anyone come up with a neat way of securing the box in the bed but still easily allowing you to remove it? ...and without buggering up the bed with bolt holes, etc. I thought about installing a 2x6 board in the front bed slots and bolting it to that?
Thanks
Jim

Box can roll right out the back if you remove the fifth wheel hitch.

JLee, here's what I did.
I bought one of these toolboxes:

And then bought 4 handles kinda like this:

I drilled holes and installed a pair of those handles on each side of the box, a couple of inches below the lid, near the corners. I used pop-rivets to attach the handles to the box, but you can probably use bolts, sheetmetal screws or whatever. To hold the box down inside the bed, I am using several plastic zip-ties. I have the zip-ties looped thru the handles, down to the factory steel tie-downs that are inside the bed at the front.
This has worked out pretty well for me. The toolbox has not moved at all, the zip-ties are holding it tightly in place. I have a bedmat on the floor so that the toolbox doesn't scratch the floor of the bed up and I think it helps keep the toolbox from sliding side-to-side. The best part is all I have to do to take out the toolbox is pull out my pocketknife, cut the zip-ties, and lift it out. No holes, scratches or any other eyesores in the bed to look at. About the only drawback to doing it this way is it would be really easy to steal. I'm not worried about it happening here where I live, plus I don't keep anything really valuable inside it anyway. If a thief wants something bad enough, they are going to get it anyway, no matter what they have to tear up in the process. Let me know if you want to see some pictures.
