Just about every time this comes up on truck and rv forums the prevailing response is to check the quality of application by the local shops. If they do a good job, you'll be much happier.
The tensile strength of the line-x is significantly higher, which allows it to be applied thinner while still providing adequate protection to the bed. I personally like the look of the line-x better. Also, although both have a lifetime warranty, the line-x is covered nationwide, while I believe the rhino is only covered by the shop who applied it. I've heard of more fading problems with the rhino also, but people with both have reported that those that do fade some over time have had good results by using tire cleaning foam on their spray-in.
If you like the way one shop does the job better in your area, you really can't go wrong with either one.
Good Luck!!

thanks guys.I am leaning more to the line-x,the shop i had the rhino done at did not seem to prep the truck right and it chipped off in some spots. Also it seems to fade and look a little chalky.

I've had both Rhino and Line-X in my trucks.
Both are very good if applied right!
Here is what I noticed from Experience with Both:
The Rhino material is smooth and a bit softer than the Line-X. I like the soft tactile feel of the Rhino much better than the Line-X. Rhino is not as hard on the knees or elbows when retrieving items from the bed. It does seem to be getting lighter/chalky, but not too bad.
Line-X Very Nice looking! Very hard stuff!
Really hard on the knees, Rougher texture. Dirt tends to stick in the texture, but very easy to clean.
Given the very thin bed rails on the GM. I think the very hard nature of the Line-X sprayed over the bed rails will stiffen them up a bit. Line-X seems to be a slightly stronger material. If you can get a Line-X dealer to apply the material a little thicker than normal around, under and over the bed rails it is the way to go! This was what I did on my new 03 GMC! I used the Rhino on my Ford S.D., My local Rhino Dealer was horrible! I had to take the truck back since they deeply scratched the exterior paint on bottom side of the tail gate, and the material was peeling/bubbling on the inside of the tailgate. All Dealer, not product related problems.
Again, both products are very good! It comes down to finding a good dealer that uses the proper prep and application of the materials. Both cost about the same $330-350 for a short bed. Both have lifetime warranty.
Good Luck! ;)
I had a product called Speedliner sprayed on my bed. It's been on for over 6 months and so far no fading or chalky residue. The Indigo Blue color option looks nice, I'm very pleased with it.
I went with an Arma-Coat liner. Pretty much the same as a Line-X. The Line-X and Arma-Coat are both applied at a high pressure and a high temperature giving you a nice even coat. The Rhino and I think about every other company out there are applied at room temperature and at low pressure. Kinda just glops it on there. That's why you won;t get as good of a finish on a Rhino.
Also the high temp, high pressure liners are much easier to repair if you ever need to. just spray over the bad spot and it adheres to itself. The Rhino's need be cleared down to bare metal to adhere correctly.
Go with he Line-X or Arma-Coat!!
2nd truck with Line x and very pleased with both.I've seen some rigs with Rhino but the application looked a little chunky for me.

One IMPORTANT point. If you ever have to do a collision repair, because the Line-X goes on hot the repair will be seamless. The cold applications like Rhino usually look like s**t when you try to do any significant repairs to them.
I agree with my fellow line-x guys. There process sets almost instantly providing a nice finish that wont run or glob. The high temp process is evidently better because Rhino is developing the same(hot)process. But instead of allowing their current dealers to become retro-fitted to this better process, they are starting a whole new franchise name totally separate from Rhino. Got the Rhino dealers really mad because they will compete against each other. This was what I got from a former Rhino franchisee. The Line-X guy told me the same. Very happy with Line-x. Make sure dealer is a good applier though.

Have had line-x in 2 trucks now & just like it over any of the other spray ins that are available. It just looks nice when applied.
The majority of the respondants thus far have been from Line-X owners.
I have Rhino Liner in my truck. This is the second truck I've had Rhino in. I looked at the Line-X and absolutely did not like to looks of it compared to Rhino. The Line-X I saw was like sandpaper. A bed coated with Line-X still sounds like metal when you bang against it while loading. Rhino deadens that noise and cushions the impact.
My Rhino dealer has been in business for years. He was one of the first in Texas. His crew did an outstanding job of preparation, application and finish.
My truck has a bedcover so I don't have an issue with deterioration or chaulk. It comes clean with hosing. Its easy on the old body when one must crawl in to retrieve something.
For me, Rhino was the way to go and I'll get Rhino in my next truck as well.
I went with Amera-guard? (Line-x type) for a number of resons:
1) I've seen the Rhino chalk.
2) I did not like the inconsistent texture of the Rhino.
3) The guy that did it for me (Pilsner) is an ace. 1.5 hrs and I was on the road!
The Rhino may be softer and stickier, but The looks had a LOT to do with it.

From the looks of the replys it seems quite obvious that the overwelming "Main Point" used in the decision is "Who is doing the install".

Just my .02 cents. The Rhino is better for a work application, softer thicker and keeps things from sliding around. Line-X is pretter though, depends on what you want.

I went with Rhino, and I couldn't be happier. The shop I took it to did a great prep job, so I don't expect to have any problems with adhesion.
It does look a little "gloppier" than Line-X, but it is softer, and so far, it's holding up well.
I have line-X for about a year. So far so good. I really liked the gloss it had when freshly sprayed in. Unfortunately that faded within a few months.
The one thing I'm disappointed in is the slickness of the finish. I have to tie items in place or they will slide around. Besides that one complaint, it's great!
