Does anyone have pics of Millennium boards on a CC Long Bed SRW? I've seen Steve Cornell's pics (very nice pics & info  )

Wondering how sturdy they are to stand on to reach inside the bed on a CC long? I really like these boards the best of any I've seen. I will probably just fab up some stainless steel brackets....

Buck,

I also have the J&J's on my 03 CC SB. (http://community.webshots.com/photo/72251092/75037517JntVle) and Steve Cornell's website (http://www.rtol.net/scornell/silverado.htm) came in very handy for the installation. The extended rear section on my short box is very sturdy. It does have a slight flex when standing on it but not much. Also, SS brackets would be a nice enhancement if you have the facility to work with stainless. The steel brackets that come with the J&J's are pretty good though. IIRC they are made from 3/16 or 1/4 steel. They do come painted but I added several more coats of rustoleum on mine. I also sprayed the whole underside of the boards including brackets with AMSOIL heavy duty metal protector - so far no signs of rust on any of the brackets. I also used all SS hardware for the install (it only comes with plain steel). The only problem I have had is that there is a little bit of rust/film coming from one of the rubber bumper strips on top of one board. Apparently the back of this stick-on strip contains some steel and the winter salt has leached into it. When the water runs off it leaves a little rust colored film on the SS tube. This spring I plan to flush out the strip and seal it with something. All in all I'm very happy with the J&J's.

Bill, thanks for the info ;)

David, you need to post the "visitors" link. You have your own personal "edit" address posted, I can't access that....

David,

Pictures look great! http://forum.thedieselpage.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif I didn't realize that the J&J long box version has two separate sections – one for the cab and one for the bed. On the short box the bed section is mounted to the cab with a cantilevered bracket. Just curious … how does the bed section mount on the long box? smile.gif

David, Your pics showed me exactly what I wanted to see :D Thanks. Were the box boards included in a kit or did they have to be purchased separately?

Buck,
As I remember, they were sold a set. (Full length, crew cab, longbed, for a 2500HD). If you only wanted the front, then you ordered the cab length.
Bill,
I uploaded the whole series of pictures showing the instalation. The rear board brackets do allow the board to flex a little under use but they are holding up just fine under my 275 pound weight.

These are awesome boards, put a set on my dually yesterday and love the look. Install takes a little time and patience. Putco also makes some nice boards and other products, A little more pricy I think. I am considering their SS toolbox. $1800. OUCH!!
