Looking to heat my truck in temps down to -20F. Anyone had experience with hydronic heat? I'm looking at the HYDRONIC 5 by Espar.

Yeah, I've got one. Works like advertised. What would you like to know?

Jake,

Did you do your own install and what would you do differently next time?

Yes, I did my own install. I can't think of anything off hand that I would change besides adding the remote.

Jake,

What is the remote and did you have to drop your tank to plumb for fuel? Have shopped for several options and this looks to be the best bang for the buck with little to no worry in the cold temps.

The remote is like your keyless it allows on/off from a distance. I haven't dropped the tank at this time. When I did the install the temps were on the way down. I have a temporary setup in a 5 gallon can in the bed. I'm waiting till spring/summer to drop the tank.

Jake,
I'm getting close to ordering. Checked here locally and they want $1500 for the unit and another $900 to install.

Did you mount your unit on the passenger inside frame rail?
