I'm looking for a good bug screen and also a good bug deflector. I had a good screen set up on my old 95 suburban, just unsnap it shake it off and go again. Sure kept the bugs out of the radiator. The only one I can find now is a "FIA" and the screen has such thick screen material that I think it will restrict air flow to the radiator. I'm looking for a screen like is on a screen door which snaps on.
Also what make and model bug deflector to keep the windshield somewhat bug free?
Any help would be great. Tanks! ;)

I have had good luck using black nylon widow screen behind the grill. It has enough flex the bugs dont stick and fall out when you stop.

Worked good running through the rice fields near Sacrmento Ca. Just remove the grill and loose fit screen. Then lock it down when you re install the grill. And no, I never had any heating problems towing in the mountains.

Tom,

I also added a screen behind the grille similar to A5150nut.. I cut a piece of nylon screen to fit behind the grill then sewed a binding with Velcro-loops around the edges. The screen is held in place behind the grill with industrial strength velcro-hooks... The velcro has adhesive backing that holds it to the grill.

Another method is to have an upholstery shop cut-out the center of the winter cover and sew-in a piece of screen. The advantage of this method is ease of removal for cleaning and/or towing on a hot day. I also seem to remember that Cabelas sells an external screen.
