View Full Version : amp hookup spot
I am wondering if it would work to hook the amp wire to the positive "jump start" red box. It has a nice stud and nut to easily hook to. I have 4 ga. wire for my amp. Otherwise, passenger side battery.

Buck,
I would highly recommend connecting your 4 ga. amp lead to the "red box" stud. I have had a 4 ga. lead coming from this location to a distribution block under my back seat for over a year and works great.
My signature shows what I distribute the power to. There is a perfect location (provided by mdrag) to drill through the firewall and add a grommet for wire pass through.
Southern WI, hey? I bought my truck at Hall Chevrolet on North Avenue and currently have it in for a few things including my cold lope idle and steering rattle. Talking with the service manager there, my confidence is not high that they will be able to correct the issues. They still have the truck, but was wondering where, if ever, you have had your truck serviced? Were you happy with their work?
Orfordville, WI Burtness Chevrolet. Excellent service, just ask Kennedy ;) Denny is the tech you want working on your truck.

Buck you should have no problem hooking it up to the jumpstart stud.If you do that just make sure that wire has a fuse in line or it could cause major problems.
