I bought a 1997 Chevy 2500 last March. It has the 6.5 turbo in it, and has already had an injector pump replaced.

In the lst week it has developed a problem. The motor will just quit. Doesn't matter if I am idling or on the highway, it will just stop. It always restarts right away..except for today where it took two times to get it restarted.

I have an appointment schedules, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

There are several things that cause 6.5 stalling. Usually it's the PMD(FSD). See "Solutions for 1994+ 6.5TD Stalling" on the members section of this site and search the "6.5L Turbo Diesel" members forum.

If it dies and leaves you stranded you can dump cold water on the PMD and it will restart. Try not to let the fuel level go to low in the hot weather, as this heats up the fuel and the PMD.
