Will the VW V10 diesel that will be offered in the new VW Touareg have more power than what's available from GM, Dodge and Ford today?

"Finally in the first quarter of 2004 Volkswagen will put their top of the line twin-turbo 5.0L V-10 TDI-PD engine with 313hp and 553 lb-ft. of torque into North American Touareg models. This engine will be mated to an all-new six-speed tiptronic specially developed to handle high torque loads. Volkswagen claims a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.8 seconds and a combined fuel consumption figure of 24 mpg. While Volkswagen isn't talking about pricing at this time, we expect pricing to be around $51,000 well equipped."
