fuel pump

We are looking for the wiring diagram for a 1994 6.5 turbo diesel. We had trouble starting it & then we could smell something burning. We installed a new fuel pump and if we hook it up direct it pumps like crazy but if we hook it up the right way nothing happens, so there must be a burnt wire in one of the wiring harnesses. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that this is the fuel pump that is on the frame on the driver's side. Thankyou

If I am not mistaken, the lift pump gets its power solely from the oil pressure switch! I do know some people wire a relay in line so the switch dosent need to supply all that current to the pump
