I must need a piece of steak around my neck. I try to contact certain vendors, by phone and email, to inquire about products and they never get return the email/phone call.
You would think that places would kiss your butt a little for a $3000 order you are going to place.
Another place it was going to be about a $300 order, and all I wanted was some installation info or instructions if they had them.
Another place I was a previous customer, put up with their sale scum calling me at home, but when I inquire about price and availability of a few items they go silent.
Just burns my ass!
On the other hand, you have John Kennedy who answered all my questions immediately long before I was even a customer.
Thanks for the kind words. Keep in mind, sometimes it's the luck of the draw. I'm not always that quick/responsive, especially when someone emails me a "laundry list" of questions etc...

Being on the receiving end of tech questions of nearly eight years now, here a are a few tips that might help get your questions answered.
1- Try your best not to (as JK noted) send a "laundry list" of questions all in the same email message. Keep your questions short, to the point, and brief. Only ask one or maybe two different questions per message. Send additional messages if you have more questions. Short messages usually get answered first.
2- Spend some time looking at the various tech pages available to you in the Member's Area (http://www.thethedieselpage.com/password.htm). Many of these tech pages were written specifically to address the most common questions. Most vendor sites have similar areas where answers to frequently asked questions can be found.
3- While most members know this, it can help to be courteous.
4- Regarding vendors, keep your messages short and "answerable" by someone who is not necessarily a diesel expert. Begin with something like "I would like to place an order.....". That phrase usually gets their attention, and moves you out of the "tire kicker" category.

Very good points, but considering with one vendor I had to cancel a trip to their shop for a bunch of stuff because of an emergency deployment overseas, yet they wouldnt respond when I returned.
Another I requested information regarding a product. The info I wanted was basically, "Does it have a good set of installation instructions." I have ordered a few things from this vendor prior to this, so it wasnt my first time inquiring with them.
Another I requested prices for two parts. I have ordered items from them before. They used to call me at dinner time with new products and to see how I liked my old one. Never heard from them on this, after leaving messages with the sales dept and sending polite email inquiries.
I am not going to mention names, but Im not happy with the customer service at any of the places right now. None of them are TDP sponsors, but I dont want to **** anyone off by naming them and having their lawyers come track me down.
