Just heard that f==d is going to an inline 6 duel turbo in the next super duty. Probably a Cat. I think the 07 model. Anymore info on this rumor?

Well a rumor is a rumor, but this THREAD (http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=gendiesel1&Number=2458093&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1) seems to indicate that the engine is the same basic engine as the 6.0 just bored out to 6.4L and will have two turbos....

i work for ford and the new engine will be the 6.4l released for the 2007 model year f super duty with twin turbos just like the 4.5l diesel in the low cab forward i emailed navistar and the would not give me any info told me to wait till ford releases the engine

No one else would be able to sell a diesel pickup if it were an I-6 cat :D . It will be a 6.4 twin turbo. Eeveryone I know that has a 6.0 are all running fine even the 03's call them lucky if you want.

I have been told by a cummins service shop that they worked on a ford light truck with a 350 h.p. v-8 prototype. I have heard from less reputable sources that ford will use a cat . One thing thats obvious is Ford is testing more than one new diesel engine,so I would surmise.

I'd look for Ford to go Cummins. They might as well, they own a big piece of Cummins, although I have worked on a couple of F-650 supercrewzers w/ 3126s in them.

Ford doesn't own a big piece of Cummins and never did. Geez. I meant Owned!I supposed you'd also say that Chrysler doesn't have anything to do w/ Detroit either??? Ford owned over 10% @ one time. Last time I was in Columbus, we talked about this and I was told that much of that had been sold. I wouldn't be surprised if it all had by now.

at one time ford did own about 10% of cummins, but does not currently own any.

ford never owned any piece of cummins. i do know the dodge/cummins relationship has never been better. cummins has a v-6 and v-8 prototype light duty diesel in a ram 1500. the v-8 is putting out over 500lbs of torque in a light duty model. ford was rumored to go with john deere in the future.
