Just looking for some opinions on an idea I've been tossing around. I have been thinking of buying a short wheelbase Isuzu NPR (or one of its clones) and converting it to haul a 5th wheel. With an automatic trans they are rated at 175hp. Not sure where they measure hp on the larger trucks. Does this sound like something that would work? Sounds a little underpowered to me but maybe there is some way to up the hp?
Would it make more sense to look at the next size up? Something like the chevy 5000 series that are rated at 200+ hp. One reason I am considering this is because you can pick them up fairly cheaply and I wouldn't be relying on it as my primary transportation.
