Short of taking the fender off and finding out, What is the air flow path in the fender to the air box? Is the flow routed only to the opening where the air box pushes into the fender, (no snorkle)or is the whole upper fender an "air duct"? All this is in planning an air intake mod I'm working on.
Thanks
Jim

there is a restrictive horn type scoop inside the fender. i have heard that some remove it some replace it. banks is the only one i know of that makes a replacement hi-flo scoop for inside the fender.

You will also find a air duct on the passenger front below the bat that picks up air thur the core support and routes it to the fender.

Ducting the intake thru the fender, to take advantage of the hi-pressure cool air anywhere in upper front of the radiator support bulkhead, would reduce pre-heatment thru the engine-bay environment.

A constant 200* to 300* environment.

If you don't have the snorkel then the whole space between the inner and outer fenders is accesable to the air filter inlet.
