He bought one of the first (if not the first??) domestic HMMWV's. He can't be all bad.

The "Governator"....

Wonder who will be the first to veto him....poor sucker

Just rumor, but I've heard that when he was asked if he will run during the next general election, his only reply was, "I'll be back"

IMHO, Arnold doesn't need this job. It is a noble effort for him to put his family and himself through all the s**t that goes along with being a candidate. I predict the idiots in Sacramento won't work with him and he will blast them publicly in all forms of media. Thereby sparking the next wave of ousted politicians during the next election. I'll step off my soap box now. Have a great day from the Socialist Republic of California!

I think you are right, but somebody needs to shake the monkeys out of the tree. I think Arnold is the only one that ran with that capability. Big changes to come. It really couldn't get much worse.

On edit:
It just occured to me....
A topic was started on drilling holes (within the scope of this BB) and it transformed into a full blown shootout. Someone starts a political thread (unrelated to Diesel/truck stuff) and it's civil. Just struck me funny.

Didja notice, Dmax Maverick, that it might be civil because so far only Californicators have posted - except for SoMnDMAX, and he lived with Jesse Ventura...? :D

I found this point of view interesting...something to think about

ARNOLD PAVES HILLARY'S PATH (http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=34991)

I'm going to transfer this topic to the General Diesel forum.

Interesting thought, but I don't think this time is any different than any other except that Arnold was the most electible, and we're just flat fed up with our situation. Three years ago I was jumping for joy to get a house that had natural gas because it was about 30% the cost of propane. Davis made a deal with the util's that raised not just the gas to the same price as propane, but doubled our electric while the stock of those companies soared. I just paid $900 for the tags on my Max. Because of the cut-backs in the schools(of which are mostly responsible for his first term), we've had to take on 30% more schools to make up the difference in revenue for our business. I couldn't believe 5 years ago how the schools were pushing for him so much. Boy are we sorry now. Anybody got a violin? :(
Another point to bring out is every Governer that the Clintons campaigned with last election lost. I told my wife when the Clintons showed up to help Davis to remember what happened to the last ones they tried to help. We just showed what happens when people show up to vote. That may be what has changed here. Welp, I think a few things may get better here, but if I didn't own a business I'd be lookin' elsewhere, Chuck.

Results of the election have created a shortage of UHauls in California. People poled leaving UHaul rentals have been reported at 40% headed North, 40% headed East, 18% headed South and the remaining 2% headed West. Lines at the boarder vary from 1 to 3 miles long.

Can anyone remember Reganomics?

Might be good, might be bad, but it'll certainly be entertaining to watch from here instead of being caught in the middle like all of you... Or like we were up to a year ago. It becomes a circus type atmosphere after a while.

One thing "going" for Aaaahnold is the fact he's a Repub. If he was an Independant like Jesse is (was), he'd have to fight almost EVERYONE in the house and congress... Being a Repub he'll only have to fight some of the legislature...

Again, I wish all of you the best of luck with your Governator. :D

Can anyone remember Reganomics? Well, considering that the end result of the Reagan presidency was the downfall of the Soviet Union and the virtual elimination of the threat of nuclear war, I'd say the economic price we paid was well worth it. I don't remember Bush or Clinton inheriting an economic nightmare from Reagan, anyway.

Bush I lost to Clinton because "It's The Economy Stupid" (not calling you stupid, that was his winning mantra) The economy was in terrible shape. Just like it is now, again. But at least the North Koreans can only reach California (so far) with their missiles. The Chinese seem to have pretty good rocket program -and lotsa nukes too. Lucky for us, they still need us to buy their stuff (all TV tubes are now made in China, for example - besides about everthing in a Walmart or Home-Depot) :(

Hmmm, Reaganomics......

Downfall of air traffic controlers, union busting, poor construction employment. Yea, we need another Repubican regiem. A little more "trickle down economics" will help us all.
