I changed the rear axle ratio on my 1998 Blazer and now the speedometer is reading fast. I went from a 3:08 to a 3:42. The dealer said they can't recalibrate the ECM to correct the error. I tried four local dealers and got the same answer. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct the speedometer error? I know there are some performance programers that have the capability, but I don't realy want to go that route because of cost.

Yes, it is possible for you to alter your vehicle speed sensor buffer module to account for different gearing or tire sizes. The book we put together on the 6.5L Turbo Diesel (http://www.thedieselpage.com/65book.htm) covers this in detail plus a whole lot more.
