Here is the text from the last paragraph.

"Last, the heavy-duty truck segment gets a new diesel engine. Available in mid-2004, this 6.1 L Cummins-built powerplant promises 600 lb.-ft. of torque at just 1,600 rpm, behind 325 horsepower. Equipped with this engine, an HD Ram will be rated to tow 5,443 kg."

After some reading, that might be a miss print in the Toronto Star. Dodge will have a 6.1 hemi about mid 2004. And I have read that the 5.9 CUMMINS in model year 2005 might get a timing advance and the fuel increase through the computer program to the 325 and 600 range. But that is a way down the road yet. Time will tell.

With more checking, that kg stuff over to pounds is 12,000 lbs. I think right now according to dodge.com, they can now tow 15,650lbs. Have to check my manual. It is in the garge in my truck sleeping. That 15,650lbs is of course with the 5.9 CUMMINS not the hemi.

2005 Dodge Diesels will start Production Around Early Part of 2004. New emissions standards pushed this and Californina Dealers should get alot of the first batch due to the lack of a HO Diesel in that state. (Dealers Cried enough) should be a 50 state emission vehicle. It is suppose to have more power, better fuel economy and less emisions (supposedly). Current orders we are taking are being pushed back to 2005's. We had 425 rigs pulled from us due to this.

That sounds good but if they don't have a transmission to go with it, it will still be bottom of the barrel. If they had a good tranny like the allison or ford tranny that would be a good seller...

News release says it is a 5.9 with 325hp and 600ftlbs. They call it a CUMMINS 600.Start building it JAN of 2004. Dodge still has a week auto. But the NV5600 is a babe. Come on GM don,t let this happen. Build some of us a 6 speed with all the options that I got on my 2003 CUMMINS 6 Speed. The option list on a GM 6 speed is sad at best. Don,t quote me on the buid date. But that is what I seen.
