I received the following email promoting a homegrown racing project. Thought you might be interested.... Jim

------------------------------------------

Thanks for your support of the Goldenhawk CANADIAN diesel streamliner project, powered by a Cummins engine.

Attached is the photo of the receiving of the first sponsored engine from Cummins. The man on the left is Ross Sommerville the Marketing Manager for Cummins, the other is owner of Walker Trucking, Jim Walker.

The second photo is just for fun, Captioned," As in all arranged marriages, the engine and the chassis will spend some time together before the marriage ceremony begins!"

Now the seroius side of the project can get underway.

Special thanks to Mr. Ross Sommerville for his understanding and support of all things motorsport. Thanks Ross you are truly a gentleman and an exception in todays corporate executive world.

Preparing and Panicked,
Regards,
Randy

So, I am assuming that this is a drag racing project? I guess Cummins decided to give the Banks team some competition. Not to mention the Big Three....or two in this case since Cummins is what Dodge uses. I'm glad there is this interest in diesel technology, because it means us owners are gonna benefit....eventually. Long live the diesel!!!

The text says it's a "streamliner" project. I assumed this to mean a land speed machine...

Interest in diesel performance, for a wide range of motorsport endeavors, could help sway public opinion (as Gale Banks hopes) toward a more mainstream acceptance of diesel power for the wider consumer market.
