I just bought a 96 freightliner FL70 with 8.3 cummins. The engine label says it has 210 HP but doesn't tell the torque. Can anyone tell me what the torque rating is?
Also, when engine is cold it's hard to start.
I've heard these engines sometimes need a electric fuel pump to keep the fuel to the injection pump. Can anyone help on this?
Thanks.

If your engine is an ISC 8.3 it has an electric fuel pump on the left side of the engine toward the rear. you should hear it run for a few seconds before you start the engine. The torque varies on the specific ratings but a lot of them had between 700 and 900 ft/lbs. If you give a Freightliner dealer the last 6 of your VIN they should be able to tell you exactly what is in it.

Is there any way to turn the Horsepower up on this motor?
