4th Went Missing

Yesterday while passing traffic my Allison made a downshift from 5th to what should have been 4th.
Instead it shifted into neutral, at least there was no hookup.
I manually shifted to neutral then back up to 'D'
or drive and all was well, and has been since.
Is this a sign of a faulty NSBU switch or something more serious?

I don't know. But wondering if you can provide more info. Were you in cruise? T/H?

Yes mine was doing exactly the same thing before I replaced the black NSBU switch with the new tan coloured one. It eventually just stayed in 3rd.
