Break-in, recommended fluid changes (and types) etc.?

I'm coming from the Cummins side of the fence, so I'm not unfamiliar with Diesels...

Welcome to the forum.
I brought a couple of posts (of many) to the top of the forum for you to read over when you are done with them use the search feature and punch in just about any key word to do with maintenance and a bunch of threads will come up.

Thanks Al. Good read on the diff break-in. Never heard that before, but I guess it makes sence. Wonder how you could do the front effectively on a 4x?

So after the ~ rear break-in, the Duramax should also be good to go for towing?

You are more than welcome,
After the inital breakin it is "good to go" BUT you should still change the oil after 500 miles of towing, I actually changed mine in the middle of a trip. I Kept track of the mileage on the frount diff and changed it as well when it hit about 500 miles.
