Im really wanting to go with a set of those shocks myself,I only have 25k on my rig now and they should be toast after the beating in the field their going to take this summer. When deer season comes around again im going to replace them with the RS9000's like you have.keep us posted.

bbattrell,
I'm eagerly awaiting the results... I've noticed some porpoising while carrying my camper on some bumpy roads. I've been contemplating installing RS9000's, since everyone seems to rave about them. Thanks for being the guinea pig! ;)

Interesting. Let's hear the results. My stock shocks are toast already and it's time to upgrade soon. RS9000's were on my mind, let us know how she tows with the adjustable settings. :D

I have a set of dual Rancho 9000's on my D/A;
they really perform and the adjustability
works great.

I am going on my 2nd week with my RS 9000!!!!!!Best Idea I have had .this is my 2nd truck with them , its nice if you have the adjustment for the rear shocks more so then the front. if the amount of weight you carry changes just add more shock to take the "spring" out. I only have 10k on my truck ,I did notice a BIG differance in the shocks ability to control the spring rebound loaded light or heavy .not to firm that it "skips" over bumps not to soft its like a town car with a 100k on stock shocks! Not to say other shocks cant do what these can but I havent owned them........ A+ Rancho!!!!

Just to get this right: are the new model numbers for the front RS9295 and for the rear RS9274?
I wanted to make sure my local off-road shop gets the right ones. Thanks.

Are those the part #'s for the "new" 9000's for the HD? How much for a set are they?

bbattrell

They are for a 01 3500 CC 4x4, but I would think all the HD's are the same suspension?

O yea 65.95 each from 4 wheel parts performance centers.Summit Racing may have them cheaper

Richard -
Those were the model numbers I got from Rancho's help line 800-574-6257 for my 2001 truck.

Seen in "Four Wheeler" magazine that the Rancho 9000's are on sale. Buy 3 get 4th free. Ask your local dealer before you buy. Could save about $70. The Rancho's also have a lifetime warrenty. I had them on my old truck and had to return a couple (bad lift kit design and rough driving). The shop returned them no questions asked so that worked for me.

Any downsides anyone has found with the 9000's? What considerations if vehicle not used as often for towing?

road kill it took me about 1.5 hours to unbox all 4 put the boots on and install them. one trick is to spray the in side of the boot with a little mild soap and water mix to make it easer sliding the boots over the top. I got the stock front ones off by useing a small vicegrip up near the top to stop the shaft from turning.I run with about 1000 lbs in the bed most of the time ,shock settings are #3~4 front and #4 rear(5 if Its towing). the front shocks need a little weight on the front tires to catch the top nut.I was really suprised that the stocker were gas shock.....they still are junk!

OILmans part #s are for a stock 2500 hd NOT lifted I know they also have a lift kit part # to{dont know the #} If your empty of full there is a setting that all of you will find comfortable! most likely 3 empty 4~5 with weight. the rear is the most improved end. more so with weight. Not that these are really corner burner but it will help with the high speed off ramps! ;)

FYI - I called Rancho and Camm0n is right about the 4 for 3. However, it is up to the retailer if they want to honor it. I just called Summit to get them.

I like to support my local parts dealer. However, at $91 each and no 4 for 3 deal I couldn't justify 50% more money.

Had used Rancho 9000 on my 88 extended cab k-2500.
I liked them but did have problems - kept breaking the bracket that went thru the shock bushing the bolts mounted thru. Had some custom brackets machined , solved that problem , but created another very expensive one - ended up breaking off upper shock mounts from frame.
Am now running Koni gas shocks.

I gave the 9000's a good test today with the camper. They perform great. I used to put 80lb's of air in the firestone riderites, and it would be swaying all over. Now no air and very little sway when pushing it 10 mph over the speed limit in corners or turning out of the drive way . ;)
