I saw an ad on TV while watching one of the bowl games that said "GM was giving a $2002 rebate for any new cars & trucks". Was I imagining this, or is this a new deal now that the 0% is off after Jan. 2nd? Does it also cover the Silverado HD with the Duramax? Could be the "Gods" are smiling on us that have not received our new trucks yet!!!

Hello PJD15X,

I'm in the same boat. My truck was ordered
on December 10th. I stopped by the local
dealer who said he received a fax from GM
today that suggested that all dealers load their fax machines with paper this evening as they will be receiving information by morning.
No hint of extentions or new rebates, but
dealer is betting there will be good news.

Does anyone have further details??

It's for real. With the expiration of the zero % financing, GM will begin to offer rebates of $2002, it's their new promotion to keep sales on the uptick.

If they offer $2002 that brings their profit down to 18K per truck instead of 20K. I've heard the make like 50% profit on SUV's and trucks. Guess it works out in the end for GM since they are a for profit company. I just can't figure if they make so much profit why quartly earnings are down?

$2002 is better then what I got!

Ok, For those in the know. I ordered a truck Dec. 7th and because I still haven't gotten a TPW it looks like the truck may be as late as March getting here. Do I still qualify?

Wally;
According to the post above, the rebate will end Feb. 28th.

Keep your fingers crossed that your dealer has an allocation for your truck and that the dealer gets it in time. I'm keeping mine crossed, I placed my order Nov. 16th.
Good Luck & Happy New Year

Wally: See if you can buy the VIN# and buy it on paper if it doesn't come in on time. My dealer was willing to let me do that with the 0% financing until he got word they would extend it. Good luck.

My sister-in-law works for GMAC and she is hearing that the incentives should be extended beyond February 28th. She said they haven't heard if it will be the $2002 cash back or something different though. If she sees a memo in the next week or two with any details she said she will give me a heads up. They usually hear about the incentives well ahead of the start date.

Some potential good news for those waiting for a TPW.

I am about ready to order mine. I hope to go to the dealer early next week, and that they have an allocation... http://www.62-65-dieselpage.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

know if the wait is longer for the GMC?

Does anybody know if there is any additional dealer cash in addition to the $2002 customer cash back currently available? I have heard radio ads from two local Chevy dealers saying they are doubling the $2002 cash back on any Chevy purchase.

Thanks,
Gary

I got the bug when the $2002.00 came out. The short version is that GM is trying to get rid of existing stock - so unless you have an order in the pipeline you "probably" won't qualify (programs ends Feb 28).

I grabbed a 2001 off the lot. Got the rebate PLUS $500.00 under invoice. They still have 1 left on the lot and are willing to do the same deal.

I read the fine print on this rebate and it didn't include the 2500HD or 3500. I see that Smorey pick it up on his 2001 but according to their literature, no HD's. My TPW is 1/28 so I'm hoping the rebate applies and my 3500 gets here before 2/28.

Boy do I hope you are wrong, but I think you may be right.

My salesman brought the $2002 up to me, and I ordered on the day the promotion was announced. Everywhere around that dealership there were flyers that said "$2002 cash back on every 2002 Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, GMC and Cadillac", which is what gm.com still says. The GMC site mentions 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks as included. The Chevy site has "(Certain Models)" between "Siverado" and "$2002 Cash Back"

If the truck doesn't come in by 2/28, that's a chance I took. But if it does and I don't get the $2002 I'm going to be http://www.62-65-dieselpage.com/ubb/mad.gif

Well, I really do hope I'm wrong on this but here's a page that details what vehicles the rebate applies to.
http://gmfamilysavings.com/incentivespdf/W2002.pdf
This is a page for GM employees and their families. My mother is a GM retiree so maybe it only applies to GMO or GMS plans.

OK now I am officially freaked out! My dealer told me all vehicles apply. I hope he knew what he was talking about. I thought I read some posts of those who got the rebate recently. If anyone has (or has not) received the rebate, please inform us of what is going on.

Hello folks,
Well, my truck still hasn't come in. Chances are, it will arrive after 28 Feb, the date that the current rebate offer ends. Has anyone out there heard anything about the offer extending, changing, ect?
Thanks,
Endlessly waiting, Durwin
