PLease help me. Today I got stainless steel rocker panels put on my truck after waiting weeks for 8" ones. I go to pick up my truck that is a 2001 Chevy HD2500 ext. cab shortbox 4X4 and they put 6" ones on. I am so mad because I was so specific that I wanted 8" and NOT 6". I can't belive this happened and I think they look terrible. My truck has the 3.75" molding going down the door wich is plastic with the top 1.25" or so being crome plastic. So there is 8" left to the bottom of the door. The brand they claim to have put on was ICI. I have seen trucks like mine with rockers that cover the whole rocker of the door. They tell me the distributor said because of my stock molding on the doors that the curve of the 8" would not fit my door.
I wanted the 8" ones for the looks and to protect the entire rocker of the door. Now I have these 6" pieces of crap stuck to my beautiful truck. How do I get them off?
Maybe I sound picky, but I am very picky about my truck and I thought I made it so clear what I wanted. If I could not get 8" I did not want any. When I say 8" wide I mean about 7.5" to 8".
Do any of you have the 8" ones? If so what brand are they? Where did you get them? How do I get these 6" ones off.
If any of you are fimilular with Monroe truck in Wisconsin they have the 8", BUT thiers do go from the bottom of the door up to the molding and they do not cover the whole door horizontaly. What I mean is if you look at your molding it does not go across the entire door and thier stainless starts and stops with the molding. So what I am getting at is there is gaps in the stainless between each door and box of 1-3".
All I wanted was stainless rockers that went from the bottom of the molding to the bottom of the door and that covered the whole rocker from end to end. Or nothing but they had to give what they had and now I am literaly STUCK with them.
I can't belive that if you tell somebody specificaly what you want and you still have to stand right there and watch them do it so they don't screw it up.

Please let me know if you know what I am looking for.
Thanks, Joel

Can't you just tell them they aren't what you asked for..... take them off. You didn't pay yet did you? If you did, get a refund or have them put the right stuff on.

Usually all you have to do is heat it up with a dryer or a heat gun and pull off to remove them. Careful with a heat gun cause some get real hot.

Removal will be a PITA...They should have never put them on like you stated..

I don`t know what to tell ya, really..

removal might do more harm then leaving them on..It could turn into more of a nightmare if your are not careful...
