19.5 wheels

doing some research. Has anyone who is running the 19.5s calibrated their spedo. with the stock 215/80-16 coverting to the 225/70-19.5 your spedo should be 5 off. with changing the tire sixe in the computer to 265/75-16 your only .5 off. I know ive read it many times before but did the new tires rub? gonna get the 19.5 by 7.5 from chromewheel.com and the 225/70-19.5 XDE M/S

225/70/19.5's are pretty much the rolling diam. of a 235/85/16 or a 265/75/16. the 1500's come with the 265s from factory and they do not have problems with rubbing at all. as long as your offset is right you can run those 225/70/19.5's with no problems, but 245/70/19.5's would look way :cool: i think. they are the same height as 285/75/16 or 255/85/16 and many here run those with no problems [other than a few turns of the t-bars to level the front end for a tad more clearence]

No rubbing on my truck with the 225/70 19.5" Michelin XDE M/S tires on the 7.5" x 19.5" Alcoa wheels. I had to trim the lower inner corner of the DS front mudflap - there was a tad less clearance on the DS due to the way the DTA Corp running boards mount.

I adjusted the DS torsion bar ONLY to level the truck from side to side - not to raise the front end.

I supposedly had my speedo corrected via Tech II on my 3500 with my 19.5's. Dealer said it could be done but everyone else says no. Anyway, 225/70-19.5 is not listed in the Tech II so I had them adjust to 235/85-16. This is close. When I compare my speedo against the portable radar in constuction zones I am dead on to 1mph fast. I was 4mph slow with stock 215/85-16. When I run against my 2500HD with stock rubber I am 4mph fast. I think GM runs all their speedo fast as to correct speed. Better to run 65 speedo-61 actual tham 65 speedo-69 actual. Anyway, my 3500 speed is close enough.

Oh ya......no rubbing. Perfect fit. No trimming or adjusting for me. All is OK with the plow on also.

I found this little handy prog. may help anyone who wants to change tire size.

If things continue I may have to quit the diesel page or get another CC. hmmm wheres that mastercard app???? Come spring Ill be rollin on the the big wheels. Does anyone make a programmer that I can change the spedo myself. I want to run my stock rims in the winter with my coopers.
