Transmission updates for 8.1 ??

I have an appointment with my dealer in the morning to have the "shift bussiness" updates done.

The ONLY time it's a problem is when I'm in cruise and the truck will do whatever it has to to maintain the set speed.

Has anyone had the update done to an 8.1 ???
If so could you link me to the update number or is it the same as the diesel?

Nope, the calibrations for the 8.1 and the Dmax are different. You didn't mention in your message whether you have a 2001 or 2002. If you have a 2001, the dealer needs to be sure to reprogram both the PCM (engine) and TCM (transmission) with the most recent calibration updates. I realize that this is after the fact and am curious as to the outcome of your visit to the dealer. Please keep us informed. smile.gif

My truck had all the latest updates.
There is no Excessive downshifting while in cruise" update for the 8.1, it's not really a problem but I thought I'd have it done if it was available.
