Question: Should the rear end be hot to the touch after normal driving (empty)?
I noticed the rear end is too hot to touch after pulling and empty driving. Is this normal? I've changed the fluid w/Amsoil 75w 90 already. Thanks in advance....Luis

Luis,

Not knowing how far you drove, if your running bigger tires, or to what capacity, or how many miles you have, but I've seen mine get pretty warm...I'm not under there a lot.....I've heard other rears go TSSSSSSS when backed into snow.....My assumption is they must get pretty warm sense they sell a heat dissipating cover (MAG HYTEC) with a gauge input built in.....Some where I seen with the added capacity and with the alum cover, it will drop temps by about 45 degrees......So for sure it could and will get hot.... How hot is to hot, I'll leave that up to the experts for I don't know the temperature operating range......
