4" Exhaust 4 Duramax

Found this add in the back of my Trailer Life Magazine.
Pinnacle Power Exhaust By Jerry Jardine Engineering.
They have the 4" exhaust system for the Duramax.
It starts at the turbo with the 4" to the muffler which is a Magnaflow Muffler then to the exit behind the rear wheel.They say the pipe can be put to give better exit the exhaust away from the bumper.
A company out in Ohio called TST did the testing for them.
The exhaust temperature dropped 150-200 degrees and getting 20 more horse power.Fuel mileage also was up by 2% if I remember right.

The kit comes with everything you need to put it on.
The system is aluminized and comes with a Life Time Warranty to the owner of the truck.
The system sells for $480.
This week and maybe the next they are running a special of $400 and half the cost for shipping.To Wis. ran around $45.It would be half of that.

Which Jim Jardine am I?

Well before the advent of e-mail, web searches and the like I was a locator/buyer of electronic parts. Several times a year I would have someone ask me if I was related to a Jardine they knew. Now, with e-mail I have had several people asking if I was the Jim Jardine they had known.

So I thought it would be appropriate and kind to people who venture onto this site to know some of my history, thus eliminating me from their list of potentials.

The strange thing about this name is that there are so many of us. Jardine is a border-clan Scottish name originating generally around the Dumfries area of Scotland. But my father's foster parents, James G. and Margarette Jardine were originally from Edinburgh. I was the first born in our family with the Jardine surname. My son, James Martin Stuart Jardine carries on this adoptive name. My true paternal grandfather was Robert King.

Which, by the way, their site doesn't list a turbo-back system. Only a cat-back one. Could the trailer life ad be incorrect? :confused:

Has anyone ever dealt with these guys? They seem to sell almost all the major exhaust brands. I'm not looking to buy a system, but their prices seem fair.

I ordered the system and it starts from the turbo with 4" all the way to the back.
Checked today just to make sure it was right and everthing is on it's way.

Are you sure that's a true turbo-down? Most (if not all) available systems are flange-back setups. Haven't heard of any manufacturers willing to tackle the turbo-down pipe (no room!), but perhaps someone will eventually... :rolleyes:

The turbo down would add performance. The DMax, unlike the Ford and Dodge has a bottleneck at the flange. The best pictures I have seen to illustrate this are at Banks website. The benefit of 4" exhaust on the DMax is not as great because of the "squeeze" through the &lt; 3.5" flange.

All I can tell you is that I asked twice if it started at the turbo and Matt told me yes.Maybe I'm wrong but not to what I have been told.
I know he did mentioned about that they where using the pipe from the turbo but everybody has been asking for the 4" from turbo down and that is the way they are going now.
I guess it would be a good idea to call them and ask them for youeself.
I know there has been a couple of companies that have stayed with the GM 3 1/2" down pipe.

Matt told me it is 4 inch all the way..and he uses a Magnaflow muffer..Muffers are on backorder for a week or so..

Do you know if this exhaust system causes the dreaded drone noise in the crewcabs. I have heard that some systems do and that they aren't pleasent at highway or even slow cruising speeds. Let me know if anyone has run this system, I am interested in buying it, but only if it don't drone. Thanks.
