View Full Version : Amsoil Air Filter Question??

Hi all,

I just got my filter and have a dumb question.

Which way is it installed. Wire side up or wire side down
and Amsoil emblem up?

My Amsoil dealer is currently asleep in front of
his TV according to his dear wife, so he
couldn't answer the question :D :D :D

Foam side down in the airbox, you may have to press the box lid down firmly to close it since the foam seal is thicker than a stock filter, then wipe off the excess oil since your fingers will get gooey lol!! smile.gif

Both sides have foam.

One side has the amsoil emblem embosed
on the foam. The other side, you can
see the metal with the foam being cut
away.

Do you mean the emblem side up and
the metal mesh side down?

There were no instructions
on the box.

Not a dumb question at all. In fact, it comes up all the time on these forums.

Do you think it would be too much trouble for the Amsoil folks to attach a little sticker identifying top & bottom to these expensive filters?

Amsoil needs to give some directions in the box. I believe they are saving money at our expense. That pees me off. I gives me the impression of low class business.

Just about everyone that installs one of these filters scratches their head when it comes to actually orienting it properly and then forcing it in.

It seems to be a great product but they should follow it up with some good documentation. Geez, i could scratch a sketch and make photo copies for them for a small fee.

The metal screeen is to prevent anything from getting sucked into the intake. That means it's the last thing in the airflow. Screen faces up.

Is it possible that your Amsoil dealer may have a full time job as well? :( He might be the type of guy that has a situation where he works all night at times, maybe even saving the critters in the forest. :D :D By the way Thanksgiving it is. Ida and I will be there on Thanksgiving Day. We'll have turkey T.V. dinners. Talk to you before then. Terry
