I tried to get an answer in the accesseries area. I have a 2004 2500HD and I was told by GM that my VIN was not part of the recall. I was concerned because the eyelets on the end of the cable show rust.

Are they the old style? Should I be concerned?

The cable campaign shouldn't include your truck. You already have the updated cables, which is the only remedy offered by the bulletin. The rust you show is not the reason for the recall. The older cables would rust in the middle of the cable, then break. If by some chance your truck came with the old style cables, it was a mistake at the assembly plant, but still not applicable to the campaign. If the wiper motor on my '01 failed, I don't think I could get it replaced under the recall issued for the '95.

If you have concerns about the serviceability of your cables, make a complaint at your dealer under your truck's original warranty. If they determine your cables are failing, they will replace them.

The letter that I read from GM stated 2002 to 2004 Silverado. They did state some of them. Also they stated galvanized cables which my cables have that dull coated look unlike stainless. I was just asking for one of the Techs here for their opinion. GM Assistance said to me it was possible also.

the old style cables had a dab of clear silicone in the ends of the eyelets that was causing water to seep in and hold in the plastic casing. The pic you provded clearly shows the new style.
