How many miles can a Duramax Crew Cab 2500 HD get on a set of breaks?

not really sure but I now have 33,000 miles and when I looked at my brakes I still had a 1/2 inch of pad. the brakes stop good and I really dont want to buy factory brakes at the cost of 180 a set. Also these 33,000 miles are mixed... towing cars with no trailer brakes, traffic and heavy foot.

I am at 48,000 and they look like they will go another 50,000.

I got 122,000 miles on my 3500. Mostly heavy towing and they have a bunch of pad left.

JFILE, I AM A TECH AT A LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND ALL I CAN SAY IS "GM DID THERE HOMEWORK". I GOT CUSTOMERS WITH WELL OVER 75,000 MILES ON THERE TRUCKS AND THEY STILL DON'T NEED BRAKES. LIKE A ROCK!

240,000km (144,000 miles) and I have about 75% remaining on front and 30% on rears. Long life and it stops like a vette.

HotShot, I think there's something wrong with your vette.

Seems to be much better than the '88-98 1/2 ton brakes wearing out every 12,000 miles...

Thanks,
Tim

I had my tires rotated yesterday at 53,000 miles. The front brake pads still had plenty of material. I figure at this rate I can go 150k or more before replacing the pads.
