Here is an anti-high-performance question!
Can someone tell me the theoretical speed of our trucks (Dmax /Alli/std gears/265 tires) at idle in 4lo, in 1st and reverse gears? I have to test a piece of truck mounted equipment at work that needs a ground speed of
This may help you caluclate it
RPM=MPHxTranny ratio x T-case ratio x Axle ratio x 336 / Loaded tire diameter.
so at 1 mph in first (3.06?) x t-case (2.71?) x axle 3.73 x 336 / Loaded 31"? = 335 rpm
So the slowest I see you can go in first @ 670 rpm is 2 mph. This is assuming the TC "IS" locked so actual speed will be less, but how much less I don't know because 'I' cannot caluclate TC slip some say the TC will effectivly double gear reduction so 1 mph may be possible at idle.
HTH :D

The reverse gear ratio is 4.49 so factoring in the TC slip I might be able to do it if I go in reverse.
Thanks for the info. :D

My company works in the chem-bio decon field. Working on a road/terrain decon system. The ground speed is part of the customer's spec.
