I had a friend give me a couple Wix # 42487 (Delco **519C) air filters. He said they would fit my DMAX. They do fit but only have half as many pletes. Would these work. They look like they would be less restictive but probably would not filter as long? Are they tough enough? Later! Lone Eagle

I TRIED ONE ONCE AND IT DIDNT SEAL AROUND THE EDGES AT ALL. FACT I HAVENT FOUND ANY THAT SEAL AROUND THE EDGES OTHER THAN THE AMSOIL FILTER------- HAVENT TRIED A K&N BUT HAVE TRIED LOTS OF AFTER MARKET ONES (BALDWIN WIX FRAM AC-DELCO)AND THEY ALL LEFT DUST ON THE UPPER SHELL OF THE FILTER HOUSING. I EVEN TRIED PUTTING A COATING OF GREASE AROUND THE SEALING EDGE AND THEY ALL STILL HAD DUST ON THE UPPER PART OF THE FILTER HOUSING AFTER THE I TRIED THEM OTHER THAN THE AMSOIL FILTER. IMHO---THE OEM FILTER BOX IS PURE CACA!!!!!!
