Anyway to make the Allson shift @ lower RPM

For most of my driving 1500 rpm gets me about everywhere, but most of the time I feel I could be acheiving the same cruising speed in the next higher gear with less accelerator peddle. I plan on replacing the 245's with 265's, and I think that will help a little bit, I could be burning less fuel at the same speed with a higher gear.
