Check out the preview picture of the 2005 Chevrolet truck on page 27 of the December Trailer Life magazine. GM said it is trying to shed its "Macho" look by going to straighter lines. Looks like this will be the year of the next body style change. Better buy one before then!

I remember thinking when my first kid was born how messy and ugly it looked when I first saw it but after a bit I loved it more than anything LOL :D :D

Well, I can't see the '05, but I still don't like the front of the 03's. I don't necessarly think they are UGLY, it is just they don't look nearly as GOOD or MACHO as the BOLD-BULGE hood of the '02

The MACHO BOLD BULGE wind-plow was only that, just a nonfunctional bulge - sorta like stuffing a potato in your pants. GMC had it right all along and Chev finally woke up is all. tongue.gif

You mean someone actual thought the BULGE was functional!? :eek: The whole discussion is about LOOKS--not functions. Very seldon is the design of the hood ever about functions, this includes the Fords and Dodge. I liked the '01 hood immediately upon seeing it. Even though the '03 has been out for several months, I still very much prefer the 01/02, as I think the vast majority of people do. If I was to get an 03, it would have to be the GMC, just because of the Chevy's front end. My $.02 :D

I too liked the bulging hood, and would have probably bought an '02 GMC if it had the hood. I waited until '03 and the new bumper/grill on the GMC and am glad I did.

Right - I misspoke. I meant dysfunctional as in higher drag coefficient. I can see that the bulge would actually be symetrical and look kinda tough on a 3500. 2500 not, albeit a dead issue. Think I'll wait to see sales figures before taking your word on what the majority of people think though ...

For example, here in Canuckistan GM reports total truck sales of:

September 2001 - 18,623
September 2002 - 22,036 (increase 18.3%)

October 2001 - 17,100
October 2002 - 18,427 (increase 7.8%)

No detail I know, but perhaps not the marketing disaster predicted by some whose model year shall remain nameless.
